Carole’s story on how she became a volunteer dog walker with OSF.
At the end of March, Belinda was invited to speak at my Agility Club AGM. I thought what a wonderful charity I could give some of my free time to help out. Now 5 months later, I have walked a few miles with different dogs, in different locations and loved every minute.
My first solo walk I named ‘The 3 R’s’, which stands for Rookie, Retriever and River. Fortunately, only Silas went into the river but it was as close as I wanted to get to the River Lark.
Why do I enjoy volunteering with OSF?
- Walking lovely dogs in different locations.
- Meeting new people, other volunteers and clients
- Spreading the word for OSF
Am looking at the possibility of getting involved with AAA, with my little terrier Jack. In the meantime, I will continue to walk and promote this great charity at every opportunity and which I am very proud to be part of.
