Once a year we hold a social event for our growing team of volunteers and their visiting dogs. It is immensely satisfying to see our volunteers growing, and interacting with one another as they develop their volunteering skills with Our Special Friends. We offer about 20 training events a year for our volunteers to enhance their knowledge on subjects such as Dog Behaviour, First Aid, Dementia Care and Bereavement. It is always a huge pleasure to celebrate our volunteers’ contributions by awarding ‘Long Service’ certificates. This is why this annual photograph always give us a huge amount of pleasure at Our Special Friends as it marks the milestones that some of our volunteers have reached.
