Polly’s journey…

It is wonderful to be able to share another success story, and to see that Polly is settling in well to her new home.

This little cat very much deserves a rest, having already been on quite a journey.  Polly’s first owner sadly had to go into hospital for a lengthy stay, and so Polly went into a foster home.  This is stressful enough for any cat as they are very closely bonded to their territory and environment, but poor Polly was already showing signs of being very stressed when she arrived at the foster home, probably due to her routine being upset by her owner’s long illness.  They were reunited briefly but he was readmitted as an emergency. Sadly Polly’s owner died in hospital, the foster home couldn’t keep her, and so a new permanent home needed to be found.

Our Special Friends were already looking out for a cat for an elderly gentleman whose wife and cats had passed away, and he was missing company.  We matched him to Polly and all was rosy for a time, but sadly her anxiety led her to soil the house and it was too much for him to manage.  Luckily his son came to the rescue. He and his wife persevered and gradually, after hiding upstairs for some time, she was encouraged to come downstairs. They decided to keep her and now she is venturing out into the garden. looks like Polly has, finally, landed on her feet!
