Recruiting for a new Animal Companionship Coordinator

ABOUT THE CHARITY

Our Special Friends (OSF), based in offices at The British Racing School, Snailwell, Newmarket is a charity that aims to help people benefit from the companionship of animals and support them through difficult times. We provide practical advice and emotional support to individuals who are having difficulty caring for their pet or who are missing the companionship of an animal. We coordinate local community support to help people to enjoy the companionship of animals without the worry.

OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION / MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assess and manage cases/enquiries initially alongside the head office team
  • Assessing cases on first contact from the public/clients/support agencies
  • Working closely with the Volunteer Support Manager to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and volunteers are well supported in their role
  • Identifying and supporting new volunteers in the defined area and OSF’s operational region
  • Coordinating volunteer onboarding, training and regular meetings
  • To form networks and partnerships with relevant organisations to support the development of services within OSF.
  • To address issues arising from cases and volunteers in the community, and liaise with the office on appropriate action
  • Casework overview
  • Be conversant with all OSF procedures and ensure compliance
  • Networking and agency liaison with other organisations that affect cases and OSF’s work
  • Provide signposting opportunities as necessary using your local knowledge and experience, you may be aware of local agencies that might benefit a client
  • Developing partnerships and links with local community
  • Database entry and maintenance of records
  • Regular review of ongoing cases including case discussion with colleagues and volunteers
  • Working with colleagues and volunteers to ensure information is up to date
  • To undertake other such duties and responsibilities commensurate with the role as and when required.
  • To uphold and champion the values of OSF.
  • To be sympathetic to the aims and ethos of OSF, in particular the power of animal companionship.

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £21,500.00-£26,000.00 per year
